Volume 1 covers a total of 22 scenic backroads from Squamish, just north of Vancouver to Lillooet in the Fraser Canyon. This area is renowned for its volcanic origin, incredible scenery and backcountry recreation, including the Callaghan Valley and Whistler, sites for the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Volume 2 covers a total of 25 amazing backroads from Vancouver east to the Fraser Canyon at Hope. High mountain passes, spectacular views and an abundance of outdoor recreation are common in this area. 

Both volumes include:

  • 3D Landsat satellite images with tracks shown, large 8.5 x 11 printable topographic maps, Quicktime VR photos and movie clips (volume 2 only). All pages are printable. Quick Facts printed guide you can take with you on travels.
  • The guide has an area map with all tracks and detailed descriptions of how to get there, travel times, road conditions, length of road and nearest gas stations. Also included are detailed descriptions of camping locations, photographs at waypoints and other points of interest along the way.
  • A Backroad Index with overview map makes navigation of the book very easy. Track and Waypoint files can be imported into various types of mapping software. Some mapping software allows exporting these to Google Earth.
  • Three types of track and waypoint files are included:
    Text version - importable into many different types of mapping software
    ESRI shape files - vector data importable into many different types of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software.
    Oziexplorer files - import into Oziexplorer and other types of mapping software.
  • A PDF file that can be imported into either a Palm or Pocket PC Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) using free Adobe Reader software. Pictures and descriptive text are used to describe the trails in detail.
  • A PDF file that can be opened using free Adobe Reader software.
  • Detailed driving directions, distances, length, travel times, nearest gas stations and road conditions are supplied.
  • A topographic map showing the track and numbered waypoints . Elevation profiles for each track that shows the elevation gain over distance as well as waypoint locations and road conditions and 3D Landsat satellite images.
